Position Overview

The Controller will report to the CEO and individually handle all facets of accounting, including payroll, AR, AP, cash, banking, budgeting and forecasting and support for tax filing. This position will also play a role in all areas of record-keeping and compliance, such as insurance, personnel, IT and state and federal accounting laws. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning, coordinating, and performing all accounting operational functions

  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results

  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements

  • Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process

  • Managing the budget process

  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes

  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems

  • Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed

  • Developing and monitoring business performance metrics

  • Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance

  • Participate in the hiring of all new employees, work with management on training and retaining existing employees

  • Help maintain client and vendor contracts

  • Participate in IT activities such as design meetings and audits, helpdesk supervision

  • Participate in compliance activities for insurance, HIPAA and IT security,

  • Additional job-related duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance 

  • 7+ years of accounting experience  

  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.

  • Self-starter able to self-direct work.
